"OLD MAN" JAY

On the 20th day of June in the year of 1953 off the shores of Lake Erie, Jay Negin was brought into this world. Cleveland, Ohio was home and shortly there after the Browns were his team. One of four children Jay had all the opportunity to live a sheltered life, blending in with his other siblings. Being an extrovert by nature Jay decided to endure a life long commitment with his family and become a dedicated Cleveland Browns fan. Painful at times but then again thus is life. After his childhood Jay went on to become a State Certified Master Plumber and an intricate member of the Masonic Temple. While honing his trade, Jay started his long journey into the life of an entrepreneur. He began by opening his own plumbing business and later a hardware store, and then another. Armed with his knowledge in both a trade and business Jay soon became Master of his Masonic Lodge number 380. Later on in life he became the President of the Blue Lodge in Cleveland. A natural born leader Jay has also been deemed a philanthropist and a necessary cog in any community. Whilst active within the Masonic Temple Jay became an important part in the charitable lifestyle helping many organizations most namely the Shriners Hospitals, the Salvation Army and Saint Herman's House of Hospitality. To this day he is a regular name on the list of donators for the Geauga County Sheriffs Department helping fund the safety of his own community. In line with the assistance he offers the Sheriffs Department he also is a proud supporter and is philanthropically involved with the D.A.R.E. program here in Geauga County, Ohio. All of this however would have never been possible without his family, immediate and gained. Family is the most important part of Jay Negin, his employees are even looked at as family. Jay has been married now for 30 beautiful years to his wife Carol. They have two beautiful daughters, Tiffany and Heather, two grandsons Noah and Luke. Jay has often been seen at Cleveland Browns Stadium enjoying the game and pre-game festivities with his family, up to four generations of Browns fans at one time. When it comes to the Fan-dom that Jay endures every year, he defines the word fan. Jay has been a season ticket holder for 37 years and has bore witness to every notable Browns memory in his lifetime. He has seen every Browns football coach in history less the great Paul Brown. Through the very thick and thin, the happiness and horror, all the in climactic weather Lake Erie can throw at the fans he's been there. For years the seasons have been full of heartbreak. Minus a few random playoff appearances the pain a Browns fan endures would shatter a regular fan. This only proves how devout Jay has been throughout his life. He endured Red Right 88, he was blinded by "The Fumble", heartbroken after "The Drive." Year after year however, his love for the Browns continues to grow. If not he would have missed the double overtime victory over the Jets, or the Blizzard bowl against Buffalo, he would have missed some of the most memorable moments in Browns history, but he was there. Ten years ago, Jay, affectionately known as "The Old Man" (the nick name given to him by his son-in-law Tim) started his own tailgate party. Every Browns home game he is there, hours before the game. Amazing food and amazing times with fellow Browns fans couldn't it be better. Recently, "The Old Man" decided to embellish a little and splurge. He is now the very proud owner of The Cleveland Browns Bus and www.clevelandbrownsbus.com. A short bus gutted and turned into a rolling sports bar  for his attendees, I could think of no better way to enjoy the pre-game. From local celebrities to parents of the opposing teams players, everyone wants to visit the bus. Located in the Port of Cleveland even the NFL network and ESPN have had to take a look. Jay and his fellow fan-friends have even been named Tailgaters of the Day at least once a year since the conception of the bus. In short, Jay "Old Man" Negin also commonly referred to as the Self Proclaimed President of Section 348 at Cleveland Browns Stadium is the best definition for the word fan. A true fan, Jay belongs with fellow people of the same ilk and if ever posed the question why? He would tell you, he is a Browns fan, will be a Browns fan and wouldn't have it any other way. Well, maybe a Super Bowl before he's gone. GO BROWNIES!!!
